Journaling Your Goals Gives You A Greater Chance Of Success

Goal setting can be the quickest way to nullify the negative effects that Life Frustration can bring and journaling those goals can give you a bigger chance of success.

When we don’t know what our life frustrations are – you know when your life doesn’t feel happy but you can’t quite put a finger on the cause – goal-setting can be one of the quickest ways to get rid of that feeling of frustration.

Setting your goals out in clear in and concise fashion can be very liberating.

For that to happen though, you need to know what your life objectives are. Would you like to travel the world? Do you want to build a legacy in the form of a company or an organization or school? Or maybe you want to help a lot of people in the form of a charity? What are your big objectives in life?

Get a journal or copy book and on the first blank page write the date and your first goal. Continue on through the pages and write your second goal on the second page and so on…

Now, keep in mind that since this is personal in nature, there is really no such thing as a right or wrong answer.

One person’s big objective is no better or worse than somebody else’s. After all, we come from different backgrounds and different families. We have different values and we definitely have different experiences.

All these differences add up to the way we look at the world and the way we choose our objectives. Focus on what objective makes most sense in your life and focus on the big ones.

Beginning at the end

It may seem strange but beginning at the end is a great place to start. You can work backwards from what your end goal is.

Of course, your objectives can be far smaller or even far greater!!

I started you off with the big objectives in your life because I want you to get pumped up about the ultimate reward.

When you look at the big rewards at the end, you can then start tracing back to where you are today.

If your ultimate objective is to have $1 million dollars in a retirement fund then start with the vision of you living in a much larger house, and living a longer life. The more you visualise what that life will look like the better for yourself. You will see how it looks, how it feels and what it smells like. All this visualisation and seeing it in your mind’s eye give it the greater chance you have of success. What we focus on is what we become.

Allow yourself to feel good

One of the keys to success is to allow yourself to feel good. Make sure you feel pumped up and excited about that reality.

Next, and on the same page, start tracing backwards in terms of the actions you took from that point to two and a half years from now.

You need to do this so you can remain focused on the big objective and maintain the right level of motivation.

However, more importantly, you need to do this backwards progression to create a map in your mind. That allows you to see the clear logical conclusion between the things you need to do in the here and now to achieve a certain future.

Break down your goal

So if the goal is to make $1m in five years, in reality you should have $300,000 to $400,000 dollars made by the half-way mark. IT is a fact that the more money you have the easier you can accumulate it so in the final two years it is possible to go from half a million to 1 million dollars/euro.

You can further break down the $400,000 in two years into $200,000 in a year.

The $200,000 can be further broken down into $100,000 in six months and that can be further broken down into $50,000 in three months.

Can people with little business background in three months or approximately $16,000 a month. Sure it can if you have the right objective and a list of what you need.

Those who have read the last two paragraphs and said that it is not achievable are the ones who will fail at their goals. Better to aim for the moon and land among the stars…

Taking The First Step towards your goal

You may find as time goes by that one page may not be enough for each goal. Worry about that when you get there. All this will be is a starting point and you may not understand just yet what power you give to a goal once it is written down.

The next thing to think about is what you need to do. A goal on paper is great but it is only words until you begin to take action on it. So as soon as you have written your goals go back to page one and write ‘WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP.’ Let those five words become your new mantra for everything in life not just your goals.

Now the hard part comes and that is taking action, seeking out the ways you can make money. That takes research and research is your education into new worlds.

For longer in my life than I care to admit, I have always looked at what steps 2,3,4,5,6,7 etc are. None of those matter until you find and finish the next step that is all that matters for this goal the next step.

What is the next step to make this goal a reality. You can’t just simply hope and wish your objectives to materialize. The law of attraction does work, but it only works when there is action involved. You can’t simply just mentally imagine certain things happening and refuse to lift a finger.

Self accountability and your goal

Just as important as writing down goals is checking on your progress. To do that you must set dates for ‘The Next Step’ and make sure that you are working on your goals to finish in the timeframe you have set for yourself.

And that is one of the areas where you have to be accountable to yourself. Self discipline is so important when you begin working on your goals. You have to take action to get the ball rolling on the things you need to help you achieve your objectives. Don’t be surprised if nothing happens when you refuse to lift a finger!

There has to be some sort of objective change in the way you think as well as the way you talk and act for your desired reality to happen.

Accordingly, focus on what you need to do to achieve these objectives. And write it down on the first page under your objective.
