There are many reasons why people are now beginning to transfer from 4-5 cups of coffee a day to 4-5 cups of green tea. And it has a lot more to with losing weight and having better focus for the day.

Green Tea Boosts Energy Levels and Mental Focus

Like coffee, green tea contains a small amount of caffeine – far less than black tee or coffee but it also contains L theanine, an amino acid that is needed for proper functioning of our nervous system, whereas coffee contains just caffeine. It is the combination of L-theanine and caffeine that is the real kicker and L theanine has been shown in many studies to help improve both alertness and focus.

Green Tea Helps Anxiety And Sleep Issues

Coffee drinkers like the ‘buzz’ that you get from strong coffee, but that doesn’t make it better for you. In fact, drinking green tea may be better for you than coffee if the tasks you have to do during the day requires thought and focus. People are becoming more and more dissatisfied with coffee because of some of the side effects it can have such as causing headaches or feeling jittery or anxious.

Green tea will not have that effect on you and that is mainly due to the effects L Theanine has on the body and when you add in botanicals and alkalising ingredients like lemon, then you may get to see a whole lot more benefits from my green teas that from your favour cup of coffee. Also, if you drink too much coffee during the day and late into the day it can have an effect on the length and quality of your sleep, something that doesn’t happen with green tea and certainly not it will not happen if you are drinking my Relax Green tea, with mint hibiscus and passionflower.

People’s eating and drinking habits continually change and that certainly seems to be the case as more and more people begin to change from their morning coffees every day to green tea. There is no doubting that the aroma can be the thing that helps form the habit when it comes to drinking coffee but for those who drink green tea habitually, they will begin to see small subtle changes in their health and that is due to the large number of polyphenols in green tea and when you add in botanicals like ginseng, cardamom and hibiscus you begin to add to the good they will do for your health.

Keepwell’s green teas are cold water soluble so you can make them as your bottled water drink in the car, at the office or at home. As well as staying hydrated properly (coffee can begin to dehydrate you) you are also getting the benefits of the green tea and the botanicals.

You’ll Ingest More Antioxidants and Reduce Inflammation with Green Tea

One of the other things about coffee is that it can irritate the lining of the gut and cause inflammation and discomfort, something green tea does not do. In fact some of the antioxidants in green tea have researched for their anti-inflammatory potential.
